As some of you may know, in the V8's this year they have allowed the use of sequential gearbox's over the traditional "H" pattern gearbox. Most drivers are using the Sequential gearbox, while others continue to use the "H" pattern gearbox, Morris and Ingall being some of them. Ingall's gearbox had some problems in yesterday's race 1 which caused him to drop down from11th to 15th. What are people's thoughts on the new gearbox and who agrees Ingall and Morris should at least trial the Sequential Gearbox as it probably has fewer problems then the "H" pattern? |

Commodore S 9 months ago | The Commodore contingent appear to be leaving their options open, Give it time and testing. If you look at the stats their is certainly more Fords applying the sequential gearbox. Certainly PM has had experience with a different form of sequential but I don t about Ingalls. |

bathurstfreak 8 months ago | I think they're pretty good. It really depends on what the driver prefers to use, I suppose everything has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage with the sequential is that you wouldn't miss a gear by selecting 1st instead of 3rd and the disadvantage is that if you forget to let the gear stick self-centre, then you're going to loose a few seconds when the car sits on the rev limiter for too long. Also I remeber a driver say that you didn't have to stretch your arm as far to change gear and that made your elbow less tired. It's good to have a couple of different options |
