Well another event another time. All the best to the team for a weekend of success. Chin up Russell. Give us something to smile about afterall you have enjoyed past success at this event. Another surfboard would not go astray. Paul for the sake of your teams fan support how about representing your team with pride and respect. Surely sponsor apparel can not be that hard to find together with diplomacy projecting the teams credibility within the field and to the knockers. Russell is doing the job and you should be standing beside him. Safe racing and we know both of you will do your best. |

Well Russell may be 6th in qualifying but he is well off the pace. 888 with Whincup certainly seem to have the complete package at this time. Russell is complaining of horsepower or lack thereof. As one of Pauls offshoots involves the Holden Motorsport Motor which they build, develop and test at his extensive complex they require to find answers in this regard as it is in direct competition to Walkinshaw. Rob Benson who Paul enlisted earlier this year to engineer the Motor has had extensive experience and given time will find the answer. As they are the only team that I know of that run this motor they are virtual pioneers on each move they make and can not fall back on others shoulders for assistance. For Pauls determination to demonstrate his complex can produce a motor equivalent to world standard I certainly give him praise. Now all it requires is for his staff to come through with the complete prize and a readily marketable product. All the best for the remainder of weekend |

Well Russells 5th placing was as anticipated and a job well done considering (and it was clearly noticeable) lack of front line speed. Although at the moment (?) Whincup as I stated previously appears to have the complete package as has FPR with Tander being spasmodic since the introduction of the new tyre at Darwin. It would appear HRT now have got their heads around this tyre and are reaping the results. What did surprise me was Todd Kelly who really slipped under the radar into 4th. Despite what our thoughts are surrounding the top three drivers (particularly Tander) I considered the first race very good and a credit to their talent. As for Pauls contribution I am not going there. All the best for to-morrow. It was also pleasing to see Will Power on Pole for the IRL. Good luck to him together with Briscoe Regards. |

Thanks fellas I was kinda feeling lonely and on a pedestal supporting Russell when their are good people to communicate with who have common views. To-day I think was just plain bad luck for Russell in the 2nd race due to his untimely pit stop with the safety car issue. This then put him on the back foot for the third race. Is has to be said it was a superb event overall and as I indicated beforehand despite what our varying views are on the podium they certainly showed their talent during the past two days and are to applauded. Russell now heads to Bahrain where horsepower is paramaount. Lets hope HMS can pull a rabbit out of the hat. In the 3rd race I think their were other issues other than horsepower as Kelly was on old tyres and Russell appeared to be in the same boat. Stido I think you have said it all "Sometimes a Winner,Always a champion" Good on you mate Regards to all |

Whats the consensus on the future of Indy? It's a great event but personally I couldn't careless if the seppos keep their world championship and stay home. What about the A1GP running there instead? |

Hey Simmo. If you want my views look under topic V8Administration. Regards |

Sounds like its pretty concrete that the A1 are going to be at Indy next year. Woo...hoo. |

Yes and it obviously was Plan B all along. The ARDC after suffering a financial disaster this year at Eastern Creek staging the A1GP concept Mr Jones was informed they were not welcome back in 2009 .Indeed Aust were not the only party to take this stance. If not for the backers of this series who are of Middle East descent it would have crashed and burnt sometime ago however they have the money to be adamant it will be a success. Whilst I am all Motorsport and give my support I do not see a place within the network for this series to survive. As for the present talent within the series I can foresee a crashfest on the Gold Coast circuit. I think the Gold Coast organisers have been conned well and truely regarding the product they are going to promote based on the QLD Govt comments which had no firm base to support their statements. I sincerely hope I am incorrect however I think a serious blunder has been made which will jeopardise this event. Just my thoughts. Regards. |

Simmo 2 months ago | Australian motorsport taste being what they are the V8's are always going to be the headline act wherever they run in australia, anyone whose been to INDY would know the open wheelers were just a sideshow, the A1's will be no different and should really attract a wider cross section of our multi-cultural community. |

Simmo believe me I hope you are correct in your assumption. I have been to Indy and acknowledge the V8s were the attraction however the open wheelers whether it be Champ Cars or IRL provided the icing on the cake for the atmosphere. I do not think the A1GP concept will fill this void and the Gold Coast Organizers together with the QLD Govt have been ill informed as to their attraction and acceptance by the Motorsport fraternity.
