How do we spice up the competition and satisfy the fan base. Simple. Relax parity and a rules and regulation book that would fill a lounge room.We are all complaining about Boring Races and this is well reflected throughout supporters. Sure parity was an issue when the fan base was all about Red Vs Blue but this concept is slowly dying with us adopting the persona of support for a particular driver in lieu of brand.
Why not let the the respective teams adopt aero packages they consider would be more competitive and allow trick bits to the car whilst maintaining a reign on horsepower. As for tyres the present situation is a joke. For example a SV6 VE purchased from your local dealer have a wheel diameter of 18" whilst our competition cars both ford and holden are restricted to 17". Another joke is each shell provided to the teams has to be "cut and Shut" as the normal street car wheel base requires to be shortened to comply with parity. Both Holden and Ford.
Overall give the cars more rubber which relates to grip and allow the engineers to develop a true Race Car and let a true competition begin within certain boundaries. Take a leaf out of the DTM competition.
I know this suggestion will draw its critics due to varying views but lets face it our V8 competition is in stress with supporters walking away daily and this trend should not be allowed to continue.
Just my thoughts.
