rob 3 months ago | I noticed on the V8 Supercar website this morning that Paul has come out saying how boring the racing is getting and the fact that the tiniest touch has guys in pit lane screaming. I can't agree more with Paul. I used to religiously sit and watch any and all telecasts from start to finish. I now am happy to see the first 3 or 4 laps and the last 5 laps of a race (plus qualifying), the rest is just a procession with the occasional off. What do others think? Should the powers that be relax some of the rules to make it more interesting? The BTCC is so much more interesting to watch at the moment! |

I agree completely Rob - it's the exact same reason I stopped following the formula 1 racing (which I feel has now lost all the excitement it used to have) Here's hoping the V8's are saved before we all start to fall asleep - keep it about *racing* not just *rules* |

I partially agree with this. From what i see, after the compulsory pit stop (CPS) nothing seems to happen in the race. They just continue to circulate until the laps count down. Its fair to say that V8 Supercar racing is not more exciting. Oh, by the way VYAcclaim i love F1. I follow every race and the way the championship is built, the racing and overall championship is very exciting. I agree some races can lack excitement at times, but it is way better than the current V8 Championship. |

Firstly may I say I hope Paul does not cop the wrath of the officials for voicing his opinion. Their is certainly inconsistency between events what is considered appropriate overtaking. There does not appear to be a grey area. Everything is Black and White. We all like to see exciting and inititave competition which is lacking. Take to-day for instance I think Frosty had the edge on Courtney but to avoid grievance he decided to play it safe and settle for 2nd. Go back to Darwin. The incident between Tander and Whincup in my opinion was a driving incident and fair play. In my opinion let the game begin and let the boys play providing their is no malice intended which could cause injury. Afterall they are professional drivers who have reached the peak of Aust Motorsport. In addition the drivers have team managers/owners to control their aggression. As regards Fi I am with you Michaelvt. It is good intitave and strategy racing however the V8s still have that appeal. As for Paul commenting on Nascars the drivers in this competition go on like a pork chop if they are involved in a incident. |

Well it looks like V8Admin have finally realised about the series becoming boring which we as supporters have known for sometime. Wow we do matter. |

I do agree with you Rob.. My passion has faded fast over the last couple of years. It got to the point where i didn't even realise that the last round was on!!!! When i looked up the results i was annoyed when i saw Russell had done so well and the race meeting i miss is the one that could have been good to watch! I just got this out of a Thesaurus... Touring car racing is a style of road racing that is run with production derived race cars. It often features exciting, full-contact racing due to the small speed differentials and large grids. That sentance excites me but it dosn't show what v8s have turned into these days and its sad! If you want good racing then go to your local track when there are family days on where locals race and it's just each for there own and its just pure racing! The trucks are good fun aswell... i think thats to problem with v8s these days theres just no good old fun at the track... If you want somthing exciting to watch then GO MOTOGP!!!!  The contact and accuracy of those riderse gets the hairs on my arms raised everytime! oh and i lost all interest in F1 when they started doing all that crap with team orders.. |

Lauren the series still holds that certain appeal but certainly needs sharpening up. V8 Admin(Cochrane) have realised this aspect but are they going to let it faulter further until relaxing some of the plain stupid rules and regulations. If so we should return to the ATCC format which was good competitive racing. If this did happen it would be a huge backward step but maybe better for the fan base. More competitors,racing within class, and less technology. I think the technology as with F1 has developed beyond the supporters definition and does not play to our sound which is sad. I really wish for the V8"s to continue but at the moment some really crucial decisions have to be made as to its direction or the supporter base will fade as it has with you. Don"t forget Winton this weekend where Russell usually does well. Regards |

yeah the races are getting boring, they need to be a bit more lenianit on hitting each other if u hit some one so be it as long as your past the b pillar but no one wants to take a risk for 6 points the point structure should be a big difference for a place not 6 points it is jsut stupid. lets hope the action heats up at winton as it is the nations action track |

Good on you mattforcer stand up for your home track. As far as the B Pillar concept goes I think this has been thrown out the door. Mr Cochrane stated some two weeks ago they had formatted their driver acceptance guidelines to CAMS at the commencement of the year however they had been misinterpreted. Therefore passing the buck. Both he and Kattach both agreed the penalty for Tander was harsh. For goodness sakes V8s are responsible for V8:s and that is where the buck stops. Bond could not get in arms length of what the guidelines were and now Mezara is doubting his ability by asking the Drivers how is he going. No wonder when V8 Admin keep moving the goalposts. As I said before let the game begin and let the boys play. The IPO now DOS should in my mind only intrude when malice or uncontrolled aggression is noted.
