As I mentioned in other posts The Enforcer appears sensitive to sponsorship from SCAR. We do not know the deal . Is it incentive, ongoing or how long. If the team have the impression SCAR may leave at any time this would explain merchandise problem. Each to his own Hot Dog. At least you are supporting a team who would appreciate the support. You can see they are keen as mustard. For me I have followed Ingall throughout and will continue to do so until he retires which hopefully is not in the short term because he certainly still has the desire and ability to win. |

hot dog 4 months ago | iam not a traitor .but love showing support for the under dog and love any thing to do with commodores sorry if i have upset anyone.there is nothing wrong with russ .he is a great guy |

Hot Dog as I said each to his own. No reason why your support can not be divided. |

Yeah, i agree withCommodore and that's rare that i agree with someone on here But there were never any fights, i'd say just more frustration with us all just wanting to know when the merch is coming out... and mate (hotdog) i think you should stick with russ because i'm sure he is one of the under dogs these days... he might have the passion but if his out there to win another championship even the biggest russell supporter would have to face FACTS that it's not going to happen... even a round win would be pushing it and this stage a race win isn't coming anytime soon unless the whole field has a turn 1 crash and he might be in luck!!! hehe.... i still really do love the driver(Rusty) but as a man i think he should leave the sport with some dignity in had.... |

Thanks Lauren. I attempt to be friendly and post topics in a sensible manner without sarcasm or otherwise. I think the Merchadise problem stems back to Sponsorship and how it is structured as I have pointed out in earlier posts. As for The Enforcers future he is improving each round particularly with qualifying which puts him up the pointy end . I am sure he will know when it is time. Providing he is given the support I consider he still has got it. I like you would like to see him leave the sport with dignity. Regardless I think has Russell has made his mark on Aust Motor Sport and should be applauded together with his background work with unfortunate childrens plights.. |
Lauren 3 months ago |
Well i agree with what your saying.. pretty much all up i just think it's a joke. If it was a formula Ford team or something less public and maybe had no money than i'd understand... BUT... it's pretty much the biggest sport in aus (i dont count AFL cos i hate it) |

Lauren Merchandise generates funding for the team therefore (and I do not mean nominal) I onceagain reiterate we not no the deal with SCAR. What is the purpose of producing merchandise which may become defunct in a short period. Then we would feel really ripped off. Russells personal sponsorship includes Castrol who are major shareholders of SCAR so who knows what is bunging on. Certainly something behind the scenes. |

Patience is a virtue. Just wait it out, i know some of you have crew shirts etc, most of us have nothing. I dont mind waiting, i've got plenty other motoracing gear (like my mclaren mercedes shirt Im sure they'll get around to it. Quick question though, when you say merchandise - is there going to be Ingall and SCAR merchandise? or just one or the other? |
ME 3 months ago |
Rumor out there from a very good source is that SCAR will not be there in 2009. Can someone confirm or deny this........ I await your response PM |
michaelvt 3 months ago |
Are you serious? Who or what is your source ME? I really can't see Super Cheap leaving, PMM has had so much "success" this year, compared to other years for Super Cheap teams. |
Lauren 3 months ago |
Yeah, i get what your saying but.... 1. i'm not a patient person 2. by the bloody time they get there heads all soughted out the season will be bloody over.... |
Commodore S 3 months ago |
Remember the affiliation between Russell and Castrol. Also why has the team not announced pairing for enduros. They already have missed one test session for Co-Drivers at Sandown. As I say something is bunging on behind the scenes |
Lauren 3 months ago |
because the team seem to do everything half assed..... Morris probably dosn't care about enduros cos he knows he's not going to win so why bother...hehe... I've had a bad day at work so i'm a bit hostile! |
Commodore S 3 months ago |
Well all we can do is sit and wait. My personal feeling is the team is going to be re-structured. |
Lauren 3 months ago | I dunno.. i just think in this day in age there just been really unprofessional and not up to the standards of the rest of the field... God knows who the hell would want an enduro drive with them! |
michaelvt 3 months ago |
Settle down Lauren, this isnt "Abusive Messages to the Team". Dont judge them yet, at least wait and see until after the enduros. Although i think if Russ is paired with Paul. Paul will only slow him down in the race. Lets just see how it plays out. |
Lauren 3 months ago |
I'm just telling it how i think it is Who's left now??? Ohhh... i'm really not looking forward to hearing who they have! lol....so how is it ok for everyone to abuse Paul like nothing else and when i say my thoughts about the team it's now that i'm abusive towards them? |
michaelvt 3 months ago | All im saying is that you shouldnt criticise them (the team) over the enduros when they havent even happened yet, never said anything about abusing Morris. Go for your life, i dont mind. |
ME 3 months ago |
reply to Commodore S .... maybe the reason they haven't announced co-drivers is because no one out there has the monies being asked by PM for the drive. And as for re-structuring, let me ask you a question who is restructuring .... PMM or Super Cheap? Will there be an important and interesting announcement this week? |
Lauren 3 months ago |
haha.. ok ok..but i'm not one to personally attact unless its Rick Kelly yeah, i'm sure we all know the enduros havnt happened yet but there not that far away |
Commodore S 3 months ago |
ME my assumption is based on the teams present approach. Who does the SCAR sponsorship badge belong to (Russell or Paul). You do not hear Paul mention SCAR however Russell is ultra-sensative where this sponsorship is concerned.. Call it Gut feeling. I think PMM will be restructured and will include Russell remaining in a driving capacitywith Paul concentrating on his business and other motor racing interests whilst overseeing and enhancing the Paul Motorsport Group. The complex he has created is world class. Yeah I think an announcement will come but when who knows. The team will remain as two however the other aspects such as Drivers is somewhat a mystery. I am confident enduro pairing will not be Paul and Russell. I know its frustrating being a supporter of this team and so much remains in the dark. |
ME 3 months ago |
Very well said Commodore S, re Russel and SCAR. PMM has a world class complex. BUT at what cost???? Can he sustain it in todays economic conditions. Need i say more or can you read something in what I'm saying. |
Commodore S 3 months ago |
I hear what you say. Remember though Paul is all business boosted by his family interests in wine. Also take into consideration his association with Holden Motor Sport. PMM are to my knowledge the only team running the Holden Motor Sport engine whereby others have turned to Walkinshaw. His complex builds and tests components associated thereto.(HMS) The complex is very convenient for this purpose together with driver training, fun days and of course CORPORATE FUNCTIONS. I think the complex is doing just fine and Paul should be given Credit where due. Therefore it may be time for him to step back and concentrate on his business interests and limit his own personal Motorsport interests to relaxation and fun. Thus my assuptions. We really should not talking about a persons financial aspects as we could be well out of line. |
ME 3 months ago |
Yes it is true PMM is boosted by the the family wine business but how much longer can they keep boosting up PMM And there the plot thickens are HMS on the move away from PMM????? there are many things happening behind the scene as to parts and components for V8 supercars I believe all is NOT well |

I think its about time Paul got out of the seat and let some of these young guns who would do anything to get there hands on a drive.. If he's looking at it from a business and money point of view how can he see the team going forward and getting better if he's still driving.. Yeah, i'll give credit to him if can hold the business and team together and i think the best way to go is to get someone in for the enduro's that might look like a chance of getting in there full time nxt yr. He'd win both ways if he did that... the team would get lots of publicity because he's stepping out and then thru out the next season who ever the young gun would be would still be getting them publicity because he's new. I know plently of young talented drivers who have spent every cent to try make it and YEAH.. i know that some say if you have the talent then you'l make it anyways but thats not always the case.. and i know OFR SURE that some in the v8's now, wouldnt have gotten there and still wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the money coming out of daddy's pocket!! |

Lauren we fail to agree or disagree. Read the previous discussions between ME and myself. As for present young guns capable of stepping up and being successful in a short time I really can not think of one throughout all categories. Sure there is plenty of talent to choose from but no instant success. As for present drivers paying for a drive I can only think of one who could be suspect. Sure in their younger days in the sport they relied upon parental support to get their name on the board until a sponsor was convinced they were worthy and their careers slowly stepped forward. Remember our present drivers commenced at an extremely early age with Go-Karting being the entry point. This sport can be cruel even to the experienced. ME I really think things are fine. I think all participants within the PMM mix are astute business people and are not likely to see their names soiled including Russell who appears to be the figurehead of SCAR at the moment through Adverts etc. |

whoops i have heard a runmour russell will be driving with luke youlden??? and paul is still undecided yet! |
michaelvt 3 months ago | Russell and Luke Youlden! That would be a great pairing, if this proves to be true than that is a VERY good decision. They have raced together before with some success and i think they would be a fantastic pairing! |
labrat 3 months ago |
Hey there, Luke Youlden has an enduro drive with FPR I think any way it is a Ford team either way. Late last year in the news it was reported that Matt Neal I think from BTCC and another overseas name were touted as enduro drivers. I can't find the article at the moment but vaguely recall it. Have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Lauren 3 months ago |
Matt Neal?? Wow...well he's not to bad.. I remember in the good old days he and steven richards drove a few times together and he wasn't to bad... |
Commodore S 3 months ago |
Thanks mate. Your input is appreciated. I have taken the liberty of commencing a fresh thread headed Circuits and Team under General Discussion as this one is full. As regards Luke Youlden I feel you are correct but think it may be SBR. It was announced at the start of year if the old memory serves me correct. May be the deal fell through. It will come to light. Interesting you mention Overseas Drivers because that appears the only alternative left unfortunately. Drivers from overseas have been tried and tested with failure at the mountain previously due to their lack of knowledge not talent. Did any Hotshots venture out here for 12 Hour. The only overseas Driver still racing in a competitive manner who knows the mountain is Brabham to my knowledge |
