The amount of advertisments during the short coverage was deplorable. Channel 7 need to improve.

Think yourself lucky... living in W.A is my choice i know, but always getting everything delayed is getting very annoying!
Our coverage didn't start till 4pm wa time so it was 6pm everywhere else and we were only just starting to view the telecast!
It's not the same when your watching it hours after you know it's all finished especially when you then can't turn on the news, radio, or even your bloody phone because you know you'l find out the results somehow!!

Ohhh...and to top it off... we don't have a public holiday tomorrow so i'll just miss the 2 races all together

Lauren our N.S.W coverage started at 4.30 p.m which I know is just plain stupid. Your situation further enhances the stupidity of the situation. Did the ruling bodies take the W.A supporters into consideration when planning the event.
Unfair Lauren.

Commodore S , just do what I do , with any of the big events , or movies , on any channel , record the event , with at least a half hour over run each side of the telelcast , then watch it later and just fast forward the adds . It take me about 90 minutes to watch the 2 hour sandown telecast , WITH NO ADDS .

Sorry Two Dogs I agree with Lauren. She also has a genuine complaint when raising the issue of a event on a Public Holiday which was not Nationwide. I know Saturday was planned as a test day for Endurance pairings but really could not the whole thing have been prepared with more foresight.

Twodogs what you suggest I do with F1 coverage and Moto G.P

Have to agree with Lauren on this one - you need to watch these things live (if you can't be there of course )

Lauren and Commodore S , Yes , I hear you both , but as I`m a shift worker , and also work weekends , I just can`t watch my motorsport when it`s televised sometimes , so I have to record it , and then just don`t listen to the radio , or watch TV ,until I can sit and watch what I`ve recorded ,and as I`ve said before , the bonus is that it takes me half the time to watch , WITH NO BLOODY ADDS.
As for the problem of races on public holidays only in some states , I have no solution for that , and I really don`t think those who control the series , or work out the calendar ,care about those us who can`t pay our money to go through the gate anyway .
Commodore S , with the F1`s , and Moto GP , I have 2 recorders , I allow 30mins before and after the advertised telecast times ( cos the TV stations don`t care about us either ) then watch them the next day depending on when I`m working , it doesn`t take long to get through them when you can cut out the adds and all the stuff before and after the races ,and you can also re watch any incidents in detail as many times as you like .
I agree with VY acclaim , there`s nothing like being trackside , but watching the races without adds is damn close to second best .

Point taken Twodogs however don't you think the men in suits should take into account all supporters.

Twodogs you appear astute so please give me your views on topic (politics and tracks)

Commodore S,
What exactly would you like my opinion on , what part of the politics ?, what about the tracks ?, but I don`t think Mr Moderator would like it too much if we turned his website into a discussion forum on the general health of our sport .
For what it`s worth (my opinion) I think the "men in suits" should forget about dragging the teams half way around the world , to places where our sport is irrelevant , and produce boring racing with no crowds , but concentrate on allowing as many of the supporters here , and New Zealand to attend trackside . They could first of all ensure that every state here has at least one round , and with the money saved in travelling costs by keeping the events here , either lower the admission prices , stage more than one round at the more popular tracks ,or give some money back to the lower budget teams to keep them in the field. Does anyone else in the forum agree or disagree with me?

Twodogs, i agree with you in some aspects.

I feel that V8 Supercars should be focusing on creating (at least) one PERMANENT racetrack in Australia, one that can equal those of F1 class circuits (e.g. Cataluya/Shanghai etc etc). This would not only make for a better championship for the V8s, but entice other worldwide championships to have a round here (and hopefully keep the F1 round). It is something that has been lacking, a permanent world-class circuit, one that will be able to cope with, and attract massive crowds. Most circuits on the current calendar are either too small for the cars, too out of date, too inconvieniant or just too unpopular. The calander needs a massive upgrade and not by just creating more street circuits.

I dont agree with taking away the rounds overseas. I think we still need to have one round overseas (not including N.Z.) because i believe it is good for the sport.

But on the discussion of T.V coverage, i am also frustrated by the volume of ads from the weekend. Especially when straight after a race, they come back from an ad, interview one person and then go straight back into another ad break! But sometimes i do what Twodogs does, just record it and watch it later, or just miss the whole round altogether like i did with Perth (which sounded pretty boring).

Sandown was good in that finally someone other than the polesitter finally won a race, and ingall was the fastest Holden out there, how does that feel Tander? Ha ha ha!
